New Market, Dec. 7, 1938 Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Baptist Church for Mrs. Sarah Jane Davis, whose death occurred Sunday evening at the home of her son, Harry T. Davis, west of New Market following an illness of about a week. Rev. Esmond Elliott, Crawfordsville, pastor of the local Church officiated. Pallbearers, grandsons of the deceased, were Alva Davis, Harold Davis, Walter Davis, Paul Sayler, Orville Demoret and Wille Demoret. Floral tributes were carried by the following granddaughters and great granddaughters: Opal Demoret, Dorothy Harbaugh, Minnie Andrews, Helen Latham, Margaret Demoret, Norma Demoret and Mollie Sayler. Walter Bowers, Mrs. Leona Nevis, Walter Penn and Mrs. Ruth Penn sang, "The Old Rugged Cross", "Home of The Soul", and "Abide With Me". Mrs. William Bowers accompanied at the piano. Interment was made at Indian Creek Cemetery to which place a large concourse of relatives and friends accompanied the body.
